Our family spent our holy week by going to Tarlac, Batangas (Philippines) and visited a monastery that has a piece of wood from the actual crucifix where Jesus was crucified. It was really overwhelming. The monastery was situated on top of a mountain and you are oriented then sent in by batch to touch the box where the cross is laid. You are not allowed to see the relic, but were allowed to touch and pray in fron ot the box in the altar. My kids really felt it when we touched it and i led the prayer, i don't know how but tears suddenly just poured out and i was praying and talking so fast that i could not even belieb\ve it was me who was talking aloud. It was such an experience for us. My six year old daughter told me as soon as we stood up (because we were kneeling in front of the box)" Wow, Mama, that was a great speech!" Lol!! That lightened the mood and i embraced them! Hope your holy week trip was as fulfilling as it was for me.

We spent our holy week like a very special family day. We went out on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We went to a quiet place away from people. We went to mountains. We had great fun. It's also a good time for us to know the members of our family better. On Thursday, we spent the day watching religious movies. Like the Passion. On Friday, we went to church. And on Saturday, hugs and kisses for every member of the family. It's the good byes of everyone.
