What is your communication style?

Some people communicate more effectively through the written word, where as other people are oral communicators. Which method do you think conveys what you are trying to say more clearly? Personally, despite typos and misspellings, I think people decide I am more intelligent and take me more seriously when they read what I have written, as I often use slang when I speak. What about you? Are you a writer or a talker, and do you think people can have totally different opinions about you based on which medium you are using?

both are good in own position but i think that both are complement to each other.both are neccesary at the same time because if one who is communicate more effectively through the written word and not a good orallly communicator then people think that he knows nothing because he is not be able to explain his own view or idea in front of others and if one who is communicates more effectively through orally and not good through written word then at the time of decumentary proof he is not be able to discuss own idea through words because all proof are in the decument form so a good communication style need both way.

I like to write better since I can express more clearly especially that English is my second language. In writing, you can think as long as you want whether what you wanted to say is the correct or appropriate thing to say and decide whether it's what you really meant. I am more of a writer than a talker. I can express more efficiently that way. And, I agree that it makes you sound intelligent since you can avoid mispronunciations of words and rather have the better chance to correct your grammar by writing. I don't know if I make sense. hehehe

just listen to what other says and let them tell their opinion.the best way to a conversation is to listen first and react thereafter respectively.its just give and take.

Conversation - They are conversing about a product.
Personally I am having a hard time communicating. I can't explain clearly what I feel and what I know. I suck in communicating especially spoken. I can do quite well in written communication. Though I am really having a hard time in spelling time. I am really bad in spelling. I think people should adjust to me if they are talking to me. But of course I will try to converse effectively.

I think nerves can get in the way of spoken communication for me. There is also the perception of the granola'd out Californian, which I find so tedious. I think you communicate very effectively!

I find it hard to really get to know a person by their written word It's only after I have met them that I really know them I feel. Though I do sometimes prefer to use the written word as you have more time to think about what you are saying. Though sometimes people can misunderstand what you are trying to say and read things into what you have written so you have to be very careful.

That's a good point, without expressions and tone it is easy for things you write to be misconstrued. Eek, I hope that doesn't happen too often!

I try to put my thoughts down in words, that way I can be more vocal about what I want to say with no interruptions and the person reading it can read it over and then come to me and ask me what it meant or how they feel in response or respond by writing again. I would definitely say taht I am a writer.

I like the 'no interruption' factor, but unless the kiddos are out of the house, I don't get that particular luxury!

I am more of a talker than I writer , I am not one for politics and things like that though , I joined My Lot months ago but only started to write discussions and answer them about 2 months ago , I thought everyone would be writing about things that I wouldn't understand or wouldn't be able to answer , but now I am really into it , I still don't answer them all If I feel I cant but I answer most , I am what we call in Scotland a blether ( talks a lot lol )

for me, i am more of a talker... i seldom write down my thoughts and i always say out whatever i have to say... i think sometimes it causes a disadvantage to me as i tend to speak faster than i think and at the end i might hurt people's feelings... i learn to be more careful on that...

I am definitely an oral communicator. I find it difficult to put my thoughts on paper whereas when I am talking, the words just seem to flow. I am also more relaxed when I am talking and I can joke a lot which I can't do when I am writing. My mum took me to kiss the Blarney Stone when I was little so I guess this is where I got the gift of the gab...lol.

I think that I communicate a lot better through writing. I don't know why, but that's just how it is.

well I am used to saying that I was born with a pen in one hand and book in the other hand...because books are my never ending friends and the pen is the best way to my heart and my soul.... Writing is such a big part of me and I can explain me to myself only writing and when I have something important or very intimate to express I need to write it down...writing...with a pen and a paper and letting the other person read my letter with his or her heart and not only with eyes...

I'm most definitely a writer. I communicate far easier if I write down my thoughts and feelings as opposed to if I try to put them into words face to face. I used to have many problems with speaking aloud about my feelings, but I've learned to be more open through the years. I think people can have completely different opinions of me based on which medium I'm using. To listen to me talking, you'd never guess that I have the ability to put down all my innermost thoughts on paper.

I think I am one who finds communicating easier with written word more than oral. I am able to think over what I want to say and can contrlol the flow of words much better. speaking and explaining myself is a bit more tediuos job for me. No to add that me and hubby communoicate more through letters when he is away n postings thwn when we are living together.

I prefer writing in Portuguese. I can use more elaborated words to express something. My English writing is not that good but myLot is helping me to improve it. But I think I can do pretty well in oral communication too. But sometimes I get shy and the words don't come out right.

I think I am equally passable for both. I can both speak and write decently. But I would say that it is easier to speak since writing means I need to cut the chase to the procrastination of actually sitting down and drafting a message. :P

Oh I am definitely more of a writer than a talker. I express myself more through writing that's why I think I won't be able to make a good lawyer. It's just that I always grope for words, I'm not a quick thinker and my emotions usually get the better of me. Whenever I'm passionate about something and try to explain it, I always end up in tears that's why I think I'm more of a writer.
