Healthy ways of dealing with allergies

I dunno any homeopathic or herbal remedies, but I LOVE Claritin. Its awesome. It works so well, 24 hours, and has no side effects (at least for me). My allergies get worse and worse every year, but I Claritan really makes it much easier.

My allergy season has already hit and believe me I know how miserable it is. Sadly though I don't really know much for home remedies to prevent allergies from kicking in. Now once they have you can try using something like vicks or bengay under your nose to help clear up the congestion, same with on your chest to help with congestion there (and Post nasal drip). Tea or coffee can help with the congestion in the lungs and to help you breathe easier. Taking a hot shower or being in an area with a lot of steam can help break up the congestion in your nose and lungs. If you have a/c or the heat running make sure to check and change your filter often. That way the it won't cirulate more allergens to you. They do have some to actually help out in reducing allergens but to be honest I tried them and didn't notice any difference. If your allergies are pollen you can try hosing down your yard and house area to help reduce the pollen in the area. It can help a bit. To help with post nasal drip from allergies try sleeping with your head and chest elevated. I sleep almost sitting straight up to help. Hope these help you out. If nothing else check with your doctor there are some great new medications out to help with allergies. I was recently put on Alstlin and it's done wonders. With taking it I wouldn't even know I had allergies.
