Favourite way to keep fit and slim down without leaving the house!

I've decided I need to lose some weight this spring, but being a student I lack the funds to pay for gym membership, and going out running / cycling has never really appealed to me. Apart from healthy eating, does anyone have any tips for excercises which burn fat and can be done in a relatively small room without any specialist equipment? At the moment I'm doing crunches and sit-ups every morning, but I'd appreciate any tips that have been successful for people!

I also live in a small aparentment and don't go to a gym. but I do try to keep in shape. One thing I like is using excerise videos. I used to do the old "Cindy Crawford workout" tape. But sadly my tape has seen better days. Now I have a yoga DVD that kicks my butt! It's Ashtanga yoga, which is a more physical type of yoga. If that's not your things there are TONS of videos out there to chhose from, everything from straight areobics, to belly dancing for fun and fitness, to boot camp style workouts. Check out amazon for some good reccomendations and deals. I have gotten all my DVD's used and for a great price. And the added bonus, you can look like a spaz in the comfort of your own home without anyone knowing ;-) Good luck!

An aerobic will be an excellent idea. There are few aerobic workout which can be done right in your home when you have less time on your hands. 1. Stair climbing: Start your aerobics in your own building. You can start with one flight of steps and keep increasing the number as the days go by. 2. Spot marching: If you don't have time to walk or run, just march on the spot and count. 3. Stool climbing: Take a low stool. Step up and down a few times and keep increasing the number as your body gets used to the exercise. 4. Dancing with the music: Put on your favorite music and dance to it. In addition to your aerobic workout, you can control eating habits well, you can lose weight easily. As always listen to your body and stop if any of these workouts tire you.
