Do you wear sunglasses because you need it or only for fashion's sake?

Well, I wear sunglasses for both reasons, I wear contact lenses for my sight, and so when I go out in the sun, I have to wear sunglasses, otherwise my eyes get watery, but it is advisable for everyone out in the sun to wear them in order to protect your eyes. Of course, your sunglasses need to have UV protection for that. It is a good practice, and if in the meantime you can also look fashionable then why not. I mean, like you, I believe that protecting your eyes doesn't mean you gotta look like a goofball. At least it's one of those things that are good for you and that can look good too. Like brown bread, it's healthy and it's tastes great. However, it does annoy me, when people wear sunglasses at night. What's with that? These are my shades, check them out.

well yeah, some people wear glasses for the sake of fashion but I don't see anything wrong with that. I wear my sunglasses everytime I go out high at noon cause my eye are sensitive to to much bright even my reading glasses are multi coated which makes it anti glare at night and infront of the computer. The bad thing about me is I don't usually pair it with my get up.. I just wear whatever sun glasses I will get.. I only have four pairs of sun glasses and one reading glass.

I wear sunglasses because glacoma and cataracts run in my family. I wear them in late spring and summer, but not in winter, because I pull my cap almost over my eyes, but in spring and summer I do not wear a hat. I will wear sunglasses that look good on me, but that does not mean that I am wearing a disguise nor does it mean that I only look good with sunglasses on. And I would never assume the other person is wearing them for the sake of fashion, just that they know how to put themselves together.

I use sunglasses because I cannot stand the glare of the sun.Even though I was born and brought up in India which is known for its bright sunshine,I start getting a headache if I am in the sun for too long.A childhood illness affected my eyes due to which I cannot take to much strain upon my eyes at a time.But I do look for fashion when I buy my sunglasses,apart from quality.I am not too fashion concious, but do like to maintain a decent look.I have used the brown shaded sunglasses and it is good for cloudy days when you still have so much glare it makes it difficult to see.Not sure about the other colours though.The blue shaded glasses keep the eyes cool.

i am always being told to wear sunglasses to keep my eyes from being damaged as i get older but i absolutely hate them, no type of sunglass suits me,i think people do wear sunglasses just for fashion, otherwise when they bought a pair why would they choose that oair in particular if they chose them for health reasons they would not care what they looked like, they would be more interested in the level of protection they give them.

Whenever I wear them it is because of the sun being so bright, and sometimes I wear them to look cool.

I need them. I begin to wear them every year in February already because the combination of sun and snow is absolutely terrible for my eyes. My best pair is about 5 years old but I still haven't find anything what suits me better, and so I'm always returning back to it. I agree, perhaps there are people who are wearing them just because they are fashionable but for me it's a must, for my eyes sake.

I wish I could wear them more often but they usually bother my nose and make my eyes water.

my pupils are unusually large. even in winter I take sungasses with me, as I usually end up needing them. without sunglasses I sometimes get headaches, and sometimes can't even see where I'm going. but I don't see why wearing them for a non-fashion purpose shou'd mean not caring what they look like. I don't want to wear unflattering sunglasses, when I can wear sunglasses that suit me.

I like sunglasses to cut down on the glare, but that isn't the full reason that I wear them. I live on the coast where it is very windy sometimes, and not only is there wind blowing in my eyes, but there can also be sand. So, sunglasses are a must for me. I don't worry about expensive ones in case I loose or break them.

I need to wear sunglasses because I am really sensative to the sun. I get headaches if I dont wear sunglasses when it is bright out. But having said that, I still have to wear sunglasses that look good.

I've been using a sunglass from the time i got a migrane. Putting on a dark sunglasses makes me feel better walking or going out under the heat of the sun. As what you've said, somehow i add fashion on it too. I agree that there are some people who wears just to be fashionable. Like they use it even indoors :)

i only wear sunglasses when i feel i need it like driving car, on the beach or under a very bright sun.it's difficult to find sunglass that suits me as a i have a round face :)

I use sunglasses strictly to keep the sun from harming my eyes. I wear contacts and sun glare is horrible for me. The sun is very damaging to our eyes and should be blocked from them at all costs. Many people just wear the sunglasses for fashion sake, one can tell because the glasses are too large for their face and don't even block sunlight from coming in at the sides or top! A good pair of sunglasses should block sunlight from coming in the side of the eye area.

I used to wear them for fashion when I go out of town every weekend. One day I forgot my sunglasses on my other bag and my eyes hurt due to dust and poluted air. So now I wear them because I need them, specially when commuting only and going to a long trip out of town.

i like sunglasses.it makes me look fashion,of course,it protects our eyes from sunshine.
