For me the question is not if changing my thoughts can change my life or not . I am pretty certain that it can . What I am more concerned about is the process of change and the choice of thoughts . What to change and what to leave intact . How do I know whats good for me . Do i go by the conventional wisdom to choose whats good for me and whats bad or instinct ?
Thoughts shape our lives . Thoughts entertained at at the star of the day often shape the course of the day .They direct how we spend our day , what do we give importance to and whether we are able to use it wisely or not .
he questions remains how do I choose which thoughts to change and how to go about the process of change .
Do you have an answer ?

First let me say Great Topic. Then let me say crap ya beat me to it. LOL
I agree. Our thoughts can be both very powerful and yet limiting forces. As far as which thoughts to keep and which to ditch, I would look at the thoughts first that limit you. The ones that tell you something will not work before you have even had a chance to test them.
As to which ones should be kept I would say that any thought that defines you as a person is fair game. Unless that interferes with the direction that you want to take your life and the person that you want to be.

I comletely agree that limiting thoughts should be the first victime to e targeted and squashed ou of the brain .
They occupy way too much space solving not too great a purpose .
Infact why limit yourshelf to limiting thoughts , hy not break free into active imagination and do new things that you once thought impossible for yourself !

I don't really have an answer for you on this because this is something that I've found myself wondering about quite often lately. I suppose we just need to try and go with our instincts on how to change our thoughts for the better. I know we're often influenced by outside sources, but perhaps if we could tap into our innermost being, the one that's unaffected by outside influences (through meditation), then maybe we would have a clearer idea as to how to proceed.

If you want to change your thoughts , there are things like Neuro Linguistic programming (NLP) made for this purpose . But using it you can make changes so easily that you often loose your identity . Though it empowers to be flexible , but its that too much flexibilty that takes
your identity away . You can chnage so rapidly that you can forget easily what were you like a day before .
And people start thinking that you are an inconsistent weakling .
