Do you play favorites with your children?

My mother-in-law is a parent of 9 children. As soon as i started dating my husband I noticed that she has a couple of favorites.For those couple of children she will bend over backwards to help and the other ones she appears to just tolerate. My husband is one that she just tolerates ,we think it's because his brother committed suicide a few years back and they are identical. I think as a parent you should love all of your children the same and treat them fairly. not play favorites. What do you think? Do you know anyone like that?
