I've been meaning to ask about procrastination...

But i keep putting it off till the next day. Well i finally decided to do it, and so the main thing i want to know from the mylot community is what level of procrastination you think you rank at. To make the process easier I've devised this simple rating scale: 1 - You never procrastinate 2 - It's not due for a whole month, so you put it off for a week, maybe two. 3 - You put things like watching tv and playing video games before homework due the next day, but it still gets done. 4 - You decide ten pages to go with ten hours until somethings due is more then enough time to crank out a paper. 5 - You start missing deadlines and rationalizing how much credit you can still manage if you push it a day or two past due. So tell me where you rank! Tell me why you rank there, and for those of you with willpower to actually rank 1 or 2 please, for the love of mylot, share your secrets with the rest of us, cause even now i'm writing this mylot entry instead of working on a fairly long assignment due Thursday afternoon. By the way: I'm somewhere around a 3.8

For me, it all depends on what's at stake. If it's something work related I usually try to do it as soon as possible but then I hit a pitfall where it sits there for a week and I find some reason to be unhappy with it so I start tweaking it and that ususally leads to disaster. For that reason alone, I usually wait until something work (tattoo ) related is in the "48 hours to deadline" timeframe before I get serious about it. For other things, well, my laundry never piles up because I am an insomniac so that's something interesting to do at three in the morning. Grocery shopping too gets done in the wee hours of the morning. You haven't experienced retail enjoyment until you've hit Von's or Albertson's at 4:00 am. So going by your scale, I am a 1.5 most of the time but can easily see myself being in the middle of the 4 - 5 range in regards to some things.
