Money woes!!

Seems like no matter what we do we just cannot seem to get ahead. The job market for my husband in our area is depressed. He works, it just sucks because the pay is so-so and his hours switch-up every month. If we move to another market we will not be able to afford a home that is nearly as nice as what we currently have. We like many I know have cut our expenses everywhere that we can. Gas keeps going up, they just hiked our water bill. The lottery never works out for us. We have a small side business, but it too does not seem to be taking off. Why do some people just seem to have good fortune fall into their lap, while others struggle and fight and feel like they are swimming upstream? Not that having loads of dough will solve evry problem, but it would be nice not to balance the checkbook in the aisles of Wal-mart sometime, SIGH!
