Random joke entries in serious discussions!!

Why do people post random jokes in the middle of your serious discussions? There are categories for humor. Sometimes I have posted a joke in the middle of a subject when the joke is relevant to that subject. I am talking about stories and jokes that have nothing to do with the discussion they appear in. This is one of my pet peeves. The divisions of subjects and topics are here for a purpose.

They shouldn't be but they don't care. They are just trying to earn a few cents by pasteing in something that is irrelevant at best and totally rude at worst. As others pointed out its spam since it's not on topic. When I see ones like that I report them and then give them a negative afterwards. Maybe if enough people report them they will be removed.

I have already posted a discussion about my pet peeve but yours is one I had forgotten about. Yes that is aggravating.

Because whether or not they mean to be, they are spammers. It is against the guidelines to post anything off topic. It is also against them to copy/paste others words. Most of them are copied from another site and pasted in the response box.
I hope you report them with the ! button, or by a pm to mylot about the people that post only jokes with no thought to a discussion.

I consider those postings spam. It's one thing to post a discussion about a joke. But arbitrarily posting a joke in the middle of a discussion is just a way to boost post count when someone has nothing to say. When I see those, I report them, and then I give them a negative rating!!
