I failed my behind the wheel test today

I went today at 11:30 am to take my behind the wheel test for a driver's license and I failed. I never ran a stop sign before but today I did I think because I was too nervous. The instructor told me I was doing very good until I ran the stop sign. My God that's a BIG mistake. So on my paper he wrote: Critical Driving Error: Applicant did not stop at STOP sign at olive end. He also told me that I was driving a bit slow. How many times did you have to take your behind the wheel test before you passed? If you failed what was the reason?

I belive one place where you have to hold your nerves by both of your hand tight is the license office ,dont know what are they made off. They harrashed me thrice before giving me the license and dont wanna tell you the Indian license office senario. every time there was some fault (according to them) The most hillarious one being i wasnt wereing the leather belt (thats one of the rule here for men drivers), can you belive that?

They can be mean at times heh? A sit belt here in the US is mandatory but I don't think that they would fail you for that. Of course they wouldn't let you take the tests without wearing it. Happy that you finally got your driver's license. I'm taking the second test in April 30th.

That is quite normal when you are going through the driving test. I took my test twice before I got my license. The first time I failed because I could not drive uphill from a stand still position where my car moved backward too much. Take it easy and try again.

Thank you for your advice shakeroo. I will try to take it easy. I'm taking the test again on April 30th and I will spend some more time practicing.

Don't feel bad, it was most likely your nerves:( I only had to take both the driving and the written tests once each. I did take drivers education though and also hired a driving instructor to go out with me one time to make sure I was doing everything right before taking the test. It cost an extra $40, but well worth it to me.

Thank you smellsyummy. I also hired a driving instructor but you see some people are just not good at driving. You sure are a very good driver to pass both tests the first time!

lol I didn't stop twice at the stop signs ( I didn't know that was a law, I thought you only stopped once at each sign but whatever)and failed twice, but third time was a charm for me. You will pass eventually. Nerves are always bad on the driving tests. You know what to do but someone grading you on it, especially something your new to and want so bad, can make someone kinda freak out. Just keep practicing and remember what they told you to do and you will get it next time!

Thank you for the advice xoShannonNCxo. Yes it was my nerves. I was very nervous. I will try to relax next time. It was raining today and because I never drove n the rain I told my husband this is not a good day for me, instead of concentrating on driving I'm going to have to concentrate on putting the windshield wipers too and I'm not good at that. So I thought I was going to fail because of that but something else more dangerous got me. Thank you!
