Offline and Online You

Do you change aspects of your personality when you're online vs. offline? I try to be the same in both. I don't think anyone who knows me offline would have a difficult time finding me online, what about you. Do you have friends offline on here or not? Do you change or modify your words on MyLot versus how you may speak or relate to others offline? I ask this because people talk about how sometimes on blogs, sometimes they feel more bold or tell things about themselves they would never do offline.

I think I can say I have pretty much the same personality offline and online. And I'm happy to see that some here have noticed how bubbly I am, and became my friends. I enjoy to meet new friends. And I never believed in making yourself up to please or sooth anyone's likes. It is just not me. If I want someone to thrust me and become my friend, I usually present myself more like an open book. Not too much, of course, I mean with honesty about my age, my status, my views in life, things like that. And also as some have noticed too, I almost always agree with all the posts I respond to. It is just because I don't believe in responding to posts that you don't agree on and make believe the person you are fine with it. I do respect anyone's views. And I don't think they would compromise theirs to fit me. So I don't either, even in real life, I respect others choices and views. So I can say I'am simple, respectful and most of the time happy to live life to the fullest, and thankful for the new acquaintaces and friends I make. Have a nice day my friend! Stay happy! (^^,)

I'm glad that you believe in staying true to you and the fact that you don't try to change things about yourself because you're on an online community. It's nice to hear people who still respect others' views. We live in a world that can be so critical of other people just for having an opinion to the point that they want nothing to even do with the person.
You're right that most people won't compromise themselves, especially on a site like MyLot which is kind of good because it fosters great discussion and invigorating thought. Take care, Aphrodite, and thanks for responding to my post.

I"m pretty much the same person online of off.
There would be no point on turning myself into someone I am not just because I am on the net, at least in my opinion, and I don't really have patience for games.
If I enjoy coming somewhere online - like my time here on myLot - I come and am the same person I am always in real life.

I think it's good that you choose to stay the same. I think for a site like MyLot or any other internet blogging forum for that matter, it's not worth it to try to change yourself just to please others. It's not worth it offline either...
