So there are a lot of movies out there that were really good when they came out... so good that they were remade in the more modern times. For all of the following movies, answer whether or not you prefer the ORIGINAL movie or the REMAKE. A short analysis or explanation would be nice :) First, the survey: 1) Willy Wonka/Charlie in the Chocolate Factory: 2) The Parent Trap: 3) The Producers: 4) Fun with Dick and Jane: 5) Poseidan Next with my answers: 1) Willy Wonka - the ORIGINAL is better! I thought the new one had great graphics and was way cool, but the original was the one I would prefer to watch over and over. 2) The Parent Trap - I like the REMAKE with Lindsay Lohan better. I just thought it was cute and less cheesy than the original. 3) The Producers - The original is good, but got a little boring, so I have to choose the REMAKE here too. 4) and 5) Poseidan and Fun with Dick and Jane: I haven't seen the remakes for either of these but the ORIGINAL is really good for both! So it seems sometimes newer is better, but other times you can't beat the original. What are your thoughts? Any other movies to add to the survey?

I definitely like the LL version of Parent Trap better! She did such a great job! There are at least five different versions of Pride and Prejudice! I still like the Colin Firth A&E version best although I love Matthew in the newer version! Great question, Suzi!

Sometimes it's all about the actor (or actress). If they throw a famous person from our modern time into a remake, it's almost gauranteed to be liked by most people, even if the original was better quality wise.
