An incredible person

I recently ran across an incredible person. Her name is Lisa Nichols. She has created an organization that helps teens who are thinking of or who have attempted suicide. Her programs have saved many lives and helped teens become survivors instead of statistics. She was a woman that was poor and considered a non-achiever when she was younger. Somehow, she has found her purpose in life and has made a difference in 1,000's of lives. Her goal is to reach out to over 1 million teens who need help. If you are looking for help, need a positive role model, or don't believe you can make a difference, you owe it to yourself to check her out. Do a web search and I am sure you will find her programs listed. I beleive she has been on Oprah a few times. When you get rid of the excuses and become filled with determination, there is no telling where you can go. When it comes down to it, there is no time to waste complaining, feeling bad or unhappy and worthless. Anyone reading this, and even those who aren't...you all have something within you that can make you a light to the darkness of the world.

Thanks for posting this. I really admire people who dedicate their lifes to people who need help and sadly so many teenagers live such sad and needy lifes in todays society. We have a woman like this is our country, the UK, Camila Batmanghelidjh She works in Peckham and has set up a charity for kids with emotional needs who have the toughest lifes in London. She is a Saint in my eyes and I support what she does. http://www.kidsco.org.uk/ I work with children in Hackney and some of the kids have very sad lifes. I help as much as possible and at the moment I am studying to become a primary school teacher. I have studied social and emotional behaviour and emotional literacy. I respect those who try to help the very ones who so desperately need our help. Thanks +

Thanks...and I am sure she will appreciate it. I think teens need to be heard and understood by adults and not always criticized.

It is nice to hear about people that do things for totally selfless reasons especially when they do it for kids. I think that Oprah has a pretty good eye for people like this and showcases them well. Thanks for sharing this information, it even one person can use it, you have done a wonderful thing for soceity !

Yes, Lisa Nichols is amazing. I came across her when I saw the movie The Secret and I was very impressed with her. What a great roll model she is for teens and adults alike. She truely has found her calling is is giving back to so many. You can get more information on her at her website: www.lisa-nichols.com/index2.htm The world would be a much better place with more people like her. Thanks for posting. I agree with your last statement that everyone has something within themselves that can make them a light to the darkness in the world.
