What do you consider to be a reasonable price for Phsyciatrists to charge?

A freind of mine has to take their child to a Phsyciatrist on a regular basis, as the child has a mental illness. The cost per visit is $180.00 and that is a reduced rate because the mother does not have a lot of money. This is per visit, if there is an emergancy and an unexpected visit is needed they are in trouble. She is waiting for a referal to a dr on the public health system. Do you think this is a fair price?

I find this an outrageous price especially for someone who like you said does not have much money . This amount of money could help her pay off a good junk of one of her bills in the run of a month . I don't know what I consider a good price but I do find this a steep price and if they were trying to give her a reduced price then I would consider something like forty dollars a visit a whole lot more reasonable as this is genrally per hour and even forty an hour is extremely high for someone with little money .

Well, I too have a mental illness, I am bipolar and have PTSD. I just go up to my local mental health office and it is free to see my therapist. She is a very good therapist, just as good as any phsycialtrist.
