what items would you send in a care package and how often would you send them? My husband is leaving for Saudi soon, so I was just looking to get some ideas!

WEll if you don't mind, send him playboy mags, not just for him, but i'm sure other men would love to look. some women don't mind that stuff, playboy's clean versus those dirty mags, those i mind. But ask wut stuff he doesn't have access to, my father in law had access to more than we thought. Maybe instant coffee if he's a coffee drinker, candy, chips, beef jerky, flower seeds. sending once a month is good. or maybe even every 2 wks if you think once a month isn't often enough.

That would be rally hard!! My husband is in the Air Force but I don't think he will go overseas!! I would send alot of cards-so he would have something to open every day, pictures of the kids, drawings from the kids, his favorite snacks, magazines, comics, movies....I don't know how often I would send one...probably once a week.

I wish your husband a safe trip and a quick return. My dad is retired Air Force so I know what it is like to be away from your loved ones. So I would probably send as many pictures as I could. I would also have the kids make drawings and such things to send him. Homemade crafts from the kids has a lot of meaning and comes from the heart. Cards are also a good idea. As far as how often, well I am someone who loves to send cards. So I would have to say once a month if not more. Again, I hope all goes well and your husband has a safe return.

Actually, I never send package to my parents ( they are not live with me) . But your post remind me to do that . I think you should send the food he like or something he can remember you.

books, videogames, candy, stuff from the kids, and whatever else he can't get there. So i guess really it would depend on what is available there and then send stuff he can't get. I'm greedy so i'd want one everyday however, that's probably not possible, so i'd say twice a month or so.

I'd send pictures and homemade items if possible, especially if it was a favorite food that could withstand the shipping process. Memento's from home would be great as well as long detailed hand written letters.

My husband might be getting deployed in June, so I've been thinking about this a lot lately, too. I've put together a couple of care packages for his best friend who is in Iraq, but I know when it's my husband I will include more things! His friend isn't interested in all the pictures of our son, or the ones that he draws, the way my husband will be. For our friend, I send him silly cards and food and stuff. For my husband I will send those things, along with pictures and stories about what the baby is doing.

I would send things overseas to them. I'd find things that they would miss like pictures, sweets and foods that they'd miss if I could send it. I'd also try to send things that would make the time for them go faster.
