The best thing for you would be to do your research about it and about the clinics that do it. You have to make sure they are professionals, either doctors or nurses. There are a number of lasers out there you have to find out which one is best for your skin type. If for example you have light skin, then the alexandrite laser might yield the best results for you. You can then research which clinics have that type of laser available and whether or not they have the latest one being the one with the most up to date technology. It is really important to do your research and find out risks so you can weigh up your options. If you go to a good place that have treated a large number of people then one can expect it to be good I guess.
For many people there is a bit of discomfort but the pain is bearable, it depends on your pain threshold. Everyone feels it differently. Most people will say its okay though. Some areas are more sensitive than others too. However with all the new advances I do think it is quite safe. Laser hair removal has been around for a while now and the technology is becoming more advanced as we go along. There have many success stories or close to it.
Then there is the issue of cost, one should really shop around to see what they can get done and if you are doing more than one area perhaps they can give you a discounted package deal, some places already offer this. So those are the important things to look at, whether the place is reputable clinic, the expertise there, the costs involved. Usually a good place will sit with you first and discuss all the risks and effects with you. They will inform you about everything. I would be weary if the place did not give this initial consultation first, which is usually free (the good ones don't charge.......only the greedy ones do).
You do get a bit red after but it soon disappears and you can enjoy the results for a while before going in to your next treatment. I think it is important to look at the question you are asking and that more people should respond if they have had any experience with the whole thing.
