I never could figure out why Elvis Presley remains in the hearts and memories of so many people. Also, probably about a third of to-days fans were not around when Elvis was at his peak. I just don't get it. I was among the first to praise him but nowadays I can't stand anything from the Fifties.

I often wonder about this too. I can understand why he was such a phenomenon at the time as rock and roll was so different to the music they were used to listening to. Nowadays though the tunes seem so short and mostly the words repeat. They are good songs, he has a great voice and he looked good when young but I still can't really understand why he is still so popular.

On reflection I remember he had a great deal of charisma, charm and his good looks and very often a kind heart. They were playing some of his old movie the other night. It brought back many a memory. Yes he is a legend.I suspect he is still popular for one reason. Many a Baby Boomer and those beyond play his songs often, just for 'Olde Times Sake'.

I was a teen when Elvis was doing his hip thing. I didn't understand why he was so popular even back then. My neighbor was talking about him when I was 12. I had never heard of him. It made her mad. She never spoke to me again. I did like his music and still do when He's played on the radio but was never a fainting screaming fan.
