Job training before hiring (wihout pay)

I'm recently looking for work because I want to help my husband with our finances. I applied as a transcriber/ encoder in a company and after a few weeks from my examination someone called me in for an orientation. It seemed that they will train job applicants first before they will decide whether or not to hire them. The catch is that the training period will last 4 - 6 hours per day for 7 - 10 weeks without payment or allowance. Well if an applicant is lucky enough the company will give you a few assignements and you'll get paid for that work, if you're lucky. I have pending applications with other companies but nobody called me yet for a job offer. Now my problem is this.. Should I go for the training? Thanks.

Hi I hope you haven't undertaken the training at no pay, that's ridiculous. If you are an experienced transcriber you may wish to set yourself up as an independent contractor and work from home transcribing. That's what I do and I am a virtual assistant. There are so many transcription companies and other businesses that outsource such work to home based independent contractors. See http://www.virtual-assistant-advice.com for so much info on virtual assistants and there is a page on the site listing legitimate companies that outsource to you.

I dont think you need to do that job without pay. Why not work for some call centre jobs. But please remember that to get a good salary job u need experience.
