Who Would Steal Aluminum Cans???

I have no idea what prompted me to go look out on the porch this morning; being that it was three am, I had better things to do with my time like play SoCom or attempt to sleep. I noticed something askew. The LARGE, 55 gallon plastic bag that I had sitting in the corner was gone. It was almost full of crushed aluminum cans that I had planned on taking to the recycling center for some cash. It was about 40 pounds so that was somewhere between $20.00 - $25.00 depending on the cash out rate.
It was there yesterday when I crushed cans and threw them in the bag. Who would jump two fences, carry that bag up a huge walkway and then try to get it over the two fences? Make no mistake about it, when day breaks I am going to be out with my baseball bat asking some of the junkies some questions. I'll give my usual "if it's not back in 24 hours" rant ... and if it isn't back then they know what's going to happen. When stuff "walks away" it's usually some junkie that doesn't know how crazy I get when someone trespasses on my property. It's not the money that matters right now ... I just won't tolerate someone coming on to MY property and stealing my stuff.
Screw the fact that there was a Mikita drill out there - left out there on accident - or that there were smaller things they could have take for more money. You know, I put forth a lot of effort to crush those damn cans. Yes, I do need to calm down lol.

blimme hun, well I guess if these people are desperate enough to do something as silly as that then they are in need of help. I hope you get it sorted, it's not nice having stuff stolen especially on your property!

Shame some spoil it for others I guess if they only have to ask, now you will think twice in helping them out if you think that they will steal. Brightest Blessings

The cans were probably snagged cause its sure money as oppoesed to trying to sell you drill or what ever.
I can understand the rage, your personal space was violated, thats intolerable. If i caught someone in my yard anytime, much less 3 am attempting to violiate my property and space they would find themselves on the back of a milk carton shortly.
Seems you live in a maybe not so secure area by the term "junkies". I know its soemthing you shouldnt have to do but a simple fox light or dummy camera can detur many would be tresspassers.

The junkies usually blow through the area (no pun intended) on their way to score; most of the time they are thinking of nothing but that. I have a reputation of flipping out on small stuff like that but handling crisis situations like a pro lol. My personal space was violated ... and that doesn't sit very well with me. I'd love to put spikes up on the fence or some razor wire but sadly, the local police sort of frown on that kind of stuff.

if somethings worth anything, there's always someone who will take advantage, unfortunetly.
i had someone steal a broken snowshovel with a taped handle off my porch last winter.
we have people who steal out of the recycle bins local-they're taking an awful chance though, the state prosecutes for that.that's stealing their money once it's on the curb.
