What's the longest you've held a job?

What's the shortest? Did you quit or were you fired? Have you ever been fired? From where and why?? Let's get some good stories here.
My longest job was in the military. I did 8 years and got out when I got pregnant. The shortest job I had... I guess Waffle House. I only did that for maybe 3 months. It was my second job, then I went back to school. I couldn't handle the schedule and quit. I worked the the prison and got fired for writing letters to my husband, who was a... resident. (We weren't married at that time). I also got fired from Western Sizzlin' cuz... I'm a crappy waitress!! (lol)
So what do you have to share?

My longest job was the military also. I was in for almost 5 years...but I got out when I got pregnant with my 6th child. I could no longer put service before self. Which, I deeply regret getting out!!! But in turn, I have been able to be here for my children.
My shortest job....not even a day. I was hired and I decided that I didn't want the job. I just couldn't get myself to ask someone if they would like to Super Size their meal. LOL

The longest time I've ever been in a job is two years. This is as a teacher in an international school in my country. The shortest was a day when I realized that I didn't want to work as a medical abstractor. I have not experienced being fired from my previous jobs. Right now, I'm happily employed here in the U.S. as a school teacher. Thanks for this discussion and happy myLotting!

The longest job that I've worked was the job that I currently work with. I've been with my current firm going on 12 years. I guess the shortest job I've had was at a detailing shop where I worked for a week. I've never really been fired officialy but I've been laid off a few times. I've had 2 or 3 jobs that I've worked for 5 or so years but I never stay unemployed for very long. Take care!!

After school I joined the Telecommunications company and started in service training college. I lasted three months and failed my exam, got confused with the maths. Then I went to the cops and stayed there for twelve and a half years, got declard medicaly unfit for further duties and went to university to study full-time. Almost done and I'll be a pastor. I did come close to being fired from the cops before I became a child of God. Luckily I had a good drinking relationship with a senior officer and he saved my but from being fired.

the longest job i had, i worked as a payrol clerk i held it for 9 years, i just resigned last Nov. cause my visa in germany was approved.
