The significance of prayer.. What exactly is prayer ? We often think of prayer as a petition to God . We view God as an instrument or the fulfillment of our wishes, removal of pain suffering and illness. We also think about it as having a dialogue with God. But prayer has a much deeper element to it . Unless we actively start seeking spiritual upliftment and spiritual progress , the true meaning of prayer is likely to elude us.

Prayer is the quarter in your pocket when it comes to releasing the vast resources of God's character and blessings in your life. The "muchness of God stands in sharp contrast to the leaness of our souls, and without prayer we cannot begin to tap into the reservoir of all that he is waiting to bestow on us. When we long for a satisfying taste of his resources, prayer is essential. He wants us to avoid formulaic prayers in exchange for a persistent passion. We are to approach His throne of grace with a keen awareness of our need for Him. You must speak daily with God in order to maintain a close relationship with him.

to me my prayers are a conversation with my creator !we should not limit our prayer to times of need only for God is not santa in the sky he is worthy of our praise at all times in all circumstances
