I have to admit juggling work, 2 active boys and a home daily is a challenge. I do feel sluggish and drained. I want to be in control of the daily situation but i also need the energy to do it. Some things which help me PERK up are:- The sound of running water or a splash in the pool. Release some endorphines - LAUGH!! ( Men jokes always make me laugh ) Food glorious food (healthy ones and DO NOT skip meals) - i like sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dried mangoes, apricots, etc.. Immerse yourself in a natural environment. The park, the garden, the beach will do wonders! Use energise phrases like " i need MORE energy" and " this is a CHALLENGE" or " Next time...." Do something you truly enjoy. I listen to music, bake, read, MyLot! In a nutshell, SWITCH OFF COMPLETELY. You deserve it! Do you have other perk me ups? What do you normally do to save your sanity? What works best for you?

Playing outside with my kids works best for me. First I have to grab a coffee from tim hortons..then just doing whatever the kids want for an hour or two. Soccor, hockey, basketball, playing on the swings or even drawing on the cement with sidewalk chalk. Keeping active is key. For me, when I sit thats when I get slugish. This way everyone in my house is happy. The kids get quality time with me and I get the energy I need from their laughter.

Hi mom_of_2, i use the same 'strategy' most of the time i'm with my boys. Especially on weekends. They just need to burn off their energy, so i just do what comes naturally. They get to run in the park, play at the playground, cycling, swimming, for about 2 to 3 hours tops. By the time they get home, its more like bathe, meal then winding down and sleep! Then i get the quiet time i sooo deserve!!! LOL - Lyn

I could not live without my Energizing Soy Protien! It gets me through my day and keeps me healthy as well. It also gets me through my work-outs without letting me get sore. Great stuff!

Hi infobyaj, thank you for your reply. Soy protein is super. I take it myself. Where did you buy yours from? Or is the generic ones just as good? - Lyn

I like those. I also will put on some upbeat music on the stereo and turn up the volume. It just seems to lift me right up out of the blahs.

I usually take 10minutes during nap time and walk outside for a fresh air in front of the house...it is so refreshing because those days get long and tiring...its like you kid of get into a rut when you are home all the time.

Yup! I think it's a rut too. Day in and day out you do the same thing over and over and over again. Commuting from home to school, to work, rush home to feed them lunch then blah blah blah Thanks bad for your reply. Cheers! - Lyn
