Did anyone experience PPD and if so, what helped you get through it?

i suffered really bad from PPD after the birth of my second son. i didnt even know i had it because i wasnt aware of the symptoms i thought PPD was when you didnt bond with your new baby and i was bonding fine with him all that was happening with me was i was feeling very stressed out and very angry at my family and friends i felt like nobody cared about me. i ended up worrying alot about my health and was finding myself at the doctors almost everyday thinking i was going to die of a terrible illness. it all sounds a bit crazy when i look back now but it was very real to me at the time and was not a very nice thing to go through. i finaly acknolaged something was wrong and asked my health care provider for help my doctor put me on a low dose of antidepressants and i came off them by myself when i started to feel better. i just tried to keep thinking positve i knew it would be the only was to beat it in the end. i think antidepressants just mask the problem you have to get yourself better by thinking in a more positve way.

I see this was 2 years ago when you wrote this, so who knows if you are still on mylot. I'm going through something similar and it helped to read what you wrote. My second son is now 10 months. I don't really feel depressed, but I do feel very sensitive, angry, moody, and just not happy a lot. I have been to the doctors tons of times trying to figure out what is wrong with me. I always feel like I must have some terrible illness too. thanks for posting.

Yes, pretty badly in my case too. If you can get counseling. It helps. Also I was on the phone talking to some people that have heard a lot and can help by just being there sometimes. Parents Anonymous 1-800-421-0353

I sure did, I had went and seek medial addition due to it. They had put me on meds but I really didn't take them. I think the talking and having that small break really made a difference. I by far feel so much better. Best wishes Stacy

I did a little bit. I had reason to believe that I would be prone to it so I was prepared to see my doctor right away about it. Don't be afraid to seek help, it is certainly out there for you. There are some great myLotters that will be here for you too. I notice you are new. Welcome!! I would like to offer you a brief explanation abut myLot and how you can increase you earnins here. I wanted somthe like this myself when I first joined. I hope it will help you out. This is a site that pays! You need to reach $10 in order to receive payment, then after that you will be paid on the 15th of the next month. But how to increase your earnings is always the real question. There are a few ways. First, you really want to concetrate on quality, long discussions or responses ~ avoid one liners. You can earn a little extra by uploading photos that tie in to your discussions. For more in depth recommendations see my profile. Feel free to contact me with any additional questions (you will first need to add me to you friend list. I never turn down new friend requests - meeting new friends is one reason I am here.) Good luck with your earnings!
