is it okay to refer to a jewish person as a "jew"?

im not jewish but i think it is offensive. most times that i hear someone say the word "jew" they are trying to say something bad about them. i think its better to refer to them as jewish.

thats true, but it sure is a lot faster to say "im a jew" even tho its pretty funny

I always refer to my Jewish friends as Jewish.

I can't imagine why anyone would find that offensive? It's simply an abbreviation, and a common one at that. I call myself a "Jew." *shrugs*
