use, do you think every one has it? Do you think that it is real? Do you think it is just coincidence, or that it can be developed? If it is something that some have developed have you developed it, or tried to? Have you gone through growing pains with this type of experience? Or growth spurts? Example, someone is aware or perceptive, or sensitive all their life, while their parent is not going to dismiss it out of hand, they don't really know or encourage development of this aspect of their child. The child goes through life with regular growing pains, and growth spurts, this is a physical natural part of growing. So then wouldn't it be natural that there will be times of psi, or psychic, or esp growth as well? Someone who is sensitive, and has always had a sense of knowing, suddenly can hear more clearly than before, so they begin to have trouble in crowds, an empathy who picks up the emotions of others suddenly find themselves bombarded with more emotions than they can deal with because they are now in crowded places? In time they learn to keep up barriers in busy places, but during that growth spurt they find it hard to go into crowds, not out of fear, but because of the disorientation that comes from being so aware. Someone who is maybe psychometric, will avoid old places, and definitely antique stores because of the energy that comes from those things, etc. Anyone go through this during their spiritual, psi, growth? Or is it an overactive imagination, of someone who needs psychiatric help? I think it is likely the former rather than the latter.

I've had some really concrete experiences, from seeing a future event to hearing noises not in my visual realm. My sister really is connected. My mother has seen things and so has my uncle. I've seen something that I really would not like to have a repeat experience with. I'm very frightened by it and have a tendancy to avoid it as much as possible. The ability is there -- it's just like changing the channel on a TV. I just don't switch the channels. Although, I have this great fear, I've been thinking lately about learning more about it. It's just a thought, I am not quite sure that I want to dabble with it. It's not bothering me, so I really don't want to bother it.

I can understand my sister's ability when she was a child was to know when people were going to die as a result she has turned it off, created blocks that are very strong so that she doesn't rely on her intuition much. I can see where knowing when someone would die would be very disturbing for her as a young child. I have been the way I am since I can remember. I noticed that it runs in your family, I do think all people have the ability to develop or surpress such skills, it is just that most are taught to surpress them. Since so many in you family show signs it is more acceptable in your family. I have also encountered some scary moments with this, but I have found that I rely on this and when I don't I usually end up having more problems than if I ignored it. Part of learning more and understanding, would be the ability to have greater control, and to learn how to protect yourself from those scary things. It is always a good idea to approach this in a safe way and be somewhat cautious if anything doesn't feel good to not do it. TO either shut down, or tell whatever is causing negative emotions to go away. Good luck with whatever you choose.

i certainly do believe everyone has it and at times it leaks out at the most unusual times. From being a child i have had premonitions in dreams and it took me until i was an adult to realise what they meant. I have always been drawn to old places but have always heard the buildings scream. It is as though the buildings carry the energy of the events that have taken place within their walls. I am actualy drawn towards this sort of thing. As of now I work in the oldest maximum security prison in the uk. When i first started work there I was drawn towards one cell on a wing, i could hear the psychic scream. I later learned it was the old execution shed . Over time i have learned to trust these noises. Sometimes it does get overwhelming and i have to psychically close down but generally i find it fascinating blessed be

I agree it is fascinating, and yes can be overwhelming. A few years ago I went through what I refer to as psychic growth spurt. Prior to this time, I had gone to the city, [being from north jersey usa going to the city means New York City] definitely a place that is overcrowded. I was fine, or at least could be ok when there. Then during this time, when I was in the city I would over load, could in fact not go to the city with out having someone else to help shield me. Since my sense of direction was so strongly tied into trusting my intuition to guide me, having to shut it down meant I was completely lost whenever I went into the city. I had formed a strong friendship one which I was guided to form. This person was key to my developing and helped me by being someone who being aware himself, just in a different way could shield me so my intutiion could remain open so I could function, but it was like he filtered out the bombardment of the thousands of people around us. When we went out in a group he tended to give me something of his personal items, and I would keep it close to my skin and I could function again. We used to do experiements to see if we could communicate with out the phone, or internet, from state to state, this also helped since my psi was growing, I was able to work it, and do so in a safe controlled way. I have always been the way that I am, but find that I have limits when I am in larger groups, or out. Those limits are that part of me needs to shut down. Or I hear to much or the wrong thing and it can short circuit me for a short period. I need to get better control on that. Something to keep working on.

I think we all have it to some degree or another it's just how we are brought up that determines what we do with it. So many are taught that such things are wrong or that it's not natural; that it is immagination so they tune it out. They bury the ability to where it doesn't work for the most part. Others are taught to appreciate it and to stregnth the ability and for them it does get more powerful. Then you have ones in the middle who have spurts of ability that show up but for the most part can't control it.

I do agree that everyone has some kind of variation of some level of psi, esp whatever. I do think that we are taught not to think it is our "imagination" In fact I recently saw a program on just that issue on the History Channel. I liked the one mother's view point. She said she never told her daughter oh wow you are psychic, nor did she tell her daughter it is all in your imagination, what she did was ask questions, and try to be supportive and understanding of the things her daughter was feeling, or sensing, or seemed to know. I thought that was a healthy balance gave the girl a chance to grow with it, with out putting pressure or labels on it to make her something odd, when going through puberty is hard enough. So far the kids can't seem to control it. the one parent told her child that it is ok to be different, and yes it can be hard, but as you grow up you will see that there are more people out there like you than you realize that most kids just are not as aware. It seems her child is empathetic and so the mother has learned to ask when the child is to emotional to ask "are these your emotions or are they coming from somewhere else" Seems the mother has some ability as well so that she is more understanding. The one psychologist who is doing a study of children with psychic ability said that she has found that most have at least one family member who has shown similiar abilities so that it is possible that it is genetic. I am not so sure that it is genetic, but rather that since someone in the family has already been accepted that it makes it easier for the following generations to be accepted.
