Have you noticed that the tags are written in alphabetical order?

That means, tagging for your own benefit won't help. Eg.: Topic, holes in socks. I would tag this socks, holes. MyLot will write the tags: holes, socks. Do you know what I am saying?

Look above at my tags. How can you say these are not in alphabetical order? They clearly are.

The ones on the post are but not the ones in the little boxes on the home page...why?

I just looked. You are right. I wonder why they are not all alphabetically arranged. That's weird to me. Thanks for pointing this out to me.
