My father died 6 months ago. According to the doctors who treated him, he got sepsis. At first, my father was admitted because of stroke but he recovered fully after 1 day. One month later, he was admitted again only this time it was because of he started to hallucinate and also his big toe began to look like gangrene. At first they treated him for high blood pressure becaue he wasnt responding to medication. They never bother to check on his toe. After a few days, in the hospital, my father condition started worsen where he was unable to move or talk and on life support! After running so many blood test, they finally confirmed that my father had sepsis plus multiple stroke. They started him with massive high doses of antibiotics. But after almost a month battling for his life, he finally lost his battle. When I asked the doctor how sepsis got into my father blood, the doctor explained it could be from the needle they used to draw his blood or from the drip to inserted to his vein. They never even bother to check on my father's toe (gangrene). They even suggested to cut it off before even confirming the sepsis.
It is sad to know that sometimes when a patient comes in for treatment it ends up costing them their life.

The sepsis, or bacteria in your father's blood stream, probably came from his toe. It sounds like there could have been some negligence there, but I am no attorney so don't just take my word for it.
I am sorry to hear what happened to your father. I hope you recover from your pain soon.

Thank you for your response. I still miss my father sometimes. I agree with you that the bacteria might have come from my father's toe but then again it could have come from the needles. Anyway, to all who are in similar situation, please see your doctor if you have cuts or pain. It probably nothing but it is safer to get it check. You might even want to get your blood check. When come to sepsis, it doesn't matter whether you are young or old. It is a very life threathening disease.
