Is Ricky Ponting is the best captain of Australia? Is he better than Steve Waugh? Is he better than Stephan Fleming of New Zealand? I don't think Ricky Ponting is the best captain in the world. I am agree with it that now he is the best batsman over Brian Lara and sometimes even better than Sachin also. now he is the best fielder in the world cricket. But when in the case of captaincy, i do not think he is better than Steve Waugh and Fleming. now one of the most easy job in the world is Captaincy of Australian team becuase they are the true professional palyers. they know what are the rolls and how to handle the situation. as said above he is the best batsman, know how to play in different situations.

you have a very good point over there..but as we saw in the latest chapell-hadlee series..new zealand thrashed australia...so it just goez to show..even theyr human..but still man..the guy rockz...he plays damn good cricket..though he doesnt behave dat well..often...lolz..he is a great leader..and his team look upto him..and they all are the best in the world..for now....

my opinion is that best captain and best batsman are two different matters. everybody knows that Rikky Ponting is known as best batsman in world cricket such as Lara and Sachin whereas Steve Waugh was the all-rounder and he was adjudge best batsman as well as captain too. similary case is in the matter of Stephen Fleming of New Zealand.

I also agree Steve Waugh is better captain than Ricky Pointing. Ricky Pointing is more aggresive and Australians team does uses lots of sledging during the game. Some of them even abuses. Under Steve Waugh the players were less playing the mind game and they games are won because of their ability than presonally hurting with words. Also, I do not like the way Ricky Pointing does not supporting the lesser team. I always believe that cricket should be a globilized and teams like Ireland should play in the World cup and more teams should play rather than restricting into eight teams. I think Hussey is better captain than Ricky Pointing and in the future will take over Ricky Pointing when he retires.
