Why do you have to enter tags for your posts?

Or is it even required? Does the amount they pay you per post have anything to do with the tags that you enter for each post? Sometimes I enter tags and sometimes I don't. I think that they are meant to sort and categorize discussions but do they do anything else? Thanks!

I have seen posters that say we do earn for adding tags and others say we don't so who knows! I dont do it every time because I am pretty lazy, but I do try to do it most of the time, in case it helps. It does help your posts I guess if people are searching for keywords too and your posts come up.

Haha I guess I should enter relevant tags rather than random words like I have been doing. LOL!!!!

Yea it's not very hard to add tags, but I was just wondering if they had another purpose other than sort posts.

Well adding tags is for the good of our discussion. Just consider you start a discussion and you tag it according to that discussion. Someone else also starts a discussion similar to yours and he gets many responses. When people respond to that discussion, they will also check Similar Discussions and there they will find your discussion and so the chaces of your discussion getting responses increases. So tags will be helpful to you in this fashion and for myLot to categorize the discussions :)

it's pretty much to help people find common interest threads.i'm not sure if we get anything for using them.more of a convenience, most likely..
