First i asked here at mylot what does the +,-,! sybols represents , the answer came +ve,-ve and abusive good for me then. Then i asked what is the greatest rank taht a person can achive the answer came 10, again very good. Mow the question that arises in my mind is that if 10 is the highest then what is the utilization of +ve rating someone who has already been to 10? Is there some financial help which we are talking in context to him?

hi! i hope you won't mind if i do a little detail first before answering your questions because it would help me make a finer point. :) you currently have a mylot star rating of 9. that's quite good. it is also your mylot reputation. it indicates how other mylot users rated the quality of your discussions, responses and comments. star rating is from 0 to 10, with 10 being the highest. it shows also your percentage of 92/100, that's how much positive (+) ratings you receive from mylot users. now for your question, for those who have worked hard to reach the 10 star rating, it's important to them coz it shows your reputation from other mylot users. it tells of quality and how much others appreciate your post. as for the correlation of the star rating and earnings, only mylot can answer you that. in my experience, since i had my 10 star rating i've been earning more per post. this may be due to the improvement of the quality of my post or other things, i'm not sure. but for one thing, it makes you feel good when you achieved a rating you wanted. and it encourages you to keep doing quality posts because you would want to maintain your 10. in doing so, your quality posts earn you more and more each day. bear in mind that mylot pays for quality. :) it is a good practice to rate the discussions you respond to as well as the responses you receive in discussions you started. it encourages other mylotters to participate in your discussions and to rate you positively as well. when your discussion is rated positively, you may earn more from it. if your responses are rated positively, you may also earn more from it. because those posts are appreciated and rated of quality. i've only been with mylot for almost 5 weeks, and i experienced that when you follow the good practices as suggested in the Guidelines and FAQs, you'll earn more for every post. when i reached 270 posts, my march earnings qualified for my first pay out already. goodluck! just enjoy posting first... earnings will follow. :)

The rating may decrease also! FE, you have 9 and I have 10. If someone doesn't like our discussions or responses for some reason, he may give us a -, and our rating may go down. I don't believe the star rating is changing our earnings but it's just a great feeling when you see, that your friends at the forum care about you enough to give you + ratings. That's why I'm giving + to every discussion I'm responding (I'm don't responding discussions I do not like) and to every good response in my discussions without paying attention on star rating of that member.

I'm not going to repeat all the points that have already been made so I'll just that I agree with what the others said and add one more thought. This is just my opinion and I don't now it for a fact but I would guess that giving a positive to someone with a 10 star already will help them KEEP their 10 star. They had to earn it by getting positive ratings. If they are no longer getting positives, I assume it would start going down.
