Weird Behavior?

My female Yorkie is almost 7 months old. She has always been a very friendly puppy and loved attention from everyone. The past few weeks she has been acting different. She only wants me, my bf, and my mom to deal with her. If anyone else tries to play with her she growls at them and has even acted like she was going to bite them. I thought maybe she was being moody because it is time to get her fixed. Anybody else have this problem?

maybe the dog is experiencing a show of territorial behavior... my dogs have grown up used to being around people so they're pretty much social animals, except when they're sleepy, at which point they'd go to the nearest secluded spot to get a nap...

Thanks for your response. She use to love people and didn't like dogs at all. I took her to a Pet Training class which helped her a lot. The class is over now and she has just started acting like this. She loves dogs now but gets very upset if anyone gets near me... it may be a show of territorial behavior... she thinks I'm hers! lol. I guess I'm going to have to see how to break her from this.

She may be going into her first heat or even a false heat. Also, she may have a medical problem and, because she's feeling bad, is a little touchy. Get her checked by the vet to rule out any physical problem.
