I am so sad to hear that the boy from the school bus crash died. The parents had to stop life support he was brain dead. It is so sad, I can't believe that school buses do not have seat belts any other vehicle its against the law not to have seat belts. Our children have to be in cars seats till there 7 but no we don't need seat belts on buses how wrong is that. The lame excuse i heard was that more children would be hurt if they could not get their seat belt off in case of fire after and accident. Well I don't know if my kid is special or not but she is 4 and we are always giving her trouble for undoing her seat belt before we come to complete start. So I say put seat belts on the buses and have safety courses for the kids on how to undo the belt and what to do in case of a crash. Not belting them in is killing our kids its got to stop. What are your opinions on this??

I always thought that it was stupid also that there are no seat belts in school buses. i think someone should really change that policy and get seatbelts in buses. It would probably save more lives

This is what i found while reasearching seat belts for buses notice the very last point i bet that is the biggest one.
Benefits of Seat Belts in School Buses
Seat belts perform well in high speed crashes
Seat belts will prevent children from being tossed around in buses (This is a benefit in cases of far-side impacts, rollovers and ejections)
There is an educational opportunity to stress the importance of seat belts
There will be a reduction in deaths and injuries, especially serious injuries, to bus occupants. Real-world data, however, show there are currently very few such deaths and serious injuries.
Limitations of Seat Belts in School Buses
Children may suffer seat belt-induced injuries if belts are not used correctly
The effectiveness of seat belts is limited in some cases of near-side impacts, especially when there is intrusion into the bus itself
Children who do not wear the seat belt could suffer injury from changes to bus design, such as stiffer seats needed to accommodate seat belt installation
Installation of seat belts comes with a high cost
