Do you think that people should be posting Hoaxes, chain letters, and other bogus information here on mylot. I realize that some may not realize that the email they received and decided to post on here was bogus and they thought that maybe they were doing a good deed by warning people, but we get so much of that stuff in our inbox now.
snopes.com is a great site to check out for rumors, and misinformation. Check there before posting. What do you think?

I LOVE snopes.com!! Anytime anyone sends me a chain letter or virus warning email I reply with a link to snopes telling them to check it out before sending that crap. I get sick of seeing so much crap email and bulletins. Like on myspace one of the popular bulletins is one about some dying kid or something along those lines begging for money. They say that everytime you post this bulletin this kid gets money from it. And to top it off it has someones phone number on there to call to verify it's true. I mean come on now..do you really think someone would post their phone number in a bulletin that will be circulated to millions of people on the internet?? I sure do feel sorry for whoever has that phone number.

This has always been a problem on social forums. It takes advantage of a mass audience. The net itself has always been a rumor mill. A birthing ground for mis-information. A veritable schmorgaborge of stories, myths and legends. I don't see why Mylot would be any different i guess
