I remember when I was a kid, I would walk down the street and there would be long lines outside KMart waiting to buy a doll. It was just nuts. I also remember a lot of my female friends having one or two. What wa all the hype about those dolls. Will they come back again? Do you have one?

Are you sure we're talking about the same doll. The one we're talking about costs about $30 bucks.

Wow! I loved the Cabbage Patch Kids! I would have loved one when I was little, except that my mother thought they were ugly, so bought me a more "realistic" baby doll instead that Christmas!

It's not too late. I've heard they're making a comeback. and selling for cheap, too.

I had one when I was 5! I can even remember her name being Edna Mae I thought it was so cool that they came with their own birth certificates and everything. They are back cause my niece has 4 of them so they are still around and popular

I should check it out. I want to get one for my cousin's daughter. Are they still like the originals?

I don't know what all the hype was about them. I remember my niece had one and it just seemed silly to me...note...I was an Aunt before I was even born. I was around 10 or 11 and this niece was only a few years my younger. But she talked of this doll as if she were real. She had adoption papers and was excited that it was going to have a birthday party. *rolling of eyes* ha ha But now that I am older, a mother, and have daughters of my own...I see that they love this because of the wonderful world of pretending. So, even though as a child I thought it was silly, pointless, and ugly little things that cost too much money...I see now as a parent that if they made a come back, my daughters would love them like their other dolls. LOL

I guess you just have different interests back then. There is nothing wrong with pretending. When I was young, I would pretend I was one of those G.I Joe guys and would constantly bug my brother. I ended up getting beat up though.

I never had one. I think all of the hype was because they came with birth certifactices for like adoption. I know when they first came out years ago they costed over $100.00.I had a home made on from a pattern I was just as happy with that then the store bought one.

Did it cost that much? Wow, the company must have made a fortune those couple of years. I didn't know it cost that much.

Guess what I have a cabbage patch kid she sits on my dresser. I have to take her dress off of her every once in a while and wash it to keep her clean from all the dust that lands on her. She has red hair and a white dress. I do not remember what her name is.

Cool. She must be very special to you, to clean her and all. Good work.

They already have come back, and did that a few years ago, actually. I had 4 of them, and they were both sets of twins. I had 2 blondes and 2 redheads. I loved playing with them, especially because they had teeth and things like that. You could change their diapers and they had these cute little button belly buttons. They were literally buttons. They were made of cloth, so you could wash them if needed, and could still do to them as you wanted. I remember putting nail polish on the ones that I had, just because I could do their nails. They were my babies, and I treated them as such. Plastic babies no longer held any appeal to me, and really neither did Barbies. Barbies were plastic, fake, and skinny, and I was none of the above. Now they've got Bratz, and though I can't stand the stereo typing that goes with them, my daughters love them. I've gotten the Cabbage Patch Kids for my girls, and they love them, and they're still the same price they were when I was a kid. I wonder if they're going to bring back Garbage Pail Kids now...

Wow, a cabbage patch fan. I never knew one can do all those things with them. All I knew as how to tease my cousins and threatening to cut off their hair. I know it was bad. I'm sorry, cuz.
