This big pile up of cars occured approximately 15 minutes drive from where I live yesterday.
A semi truck was travelling down hill on a very main road, when the brakes failed. The semi careeded further down, then jackknifed. It crossed two lines, hitting 17 cars in the process. It ended up crashing into a caravan sales yard, damaging 7 caravans. Very luckily, this was not at peak hour traffic, and only 14 people were injured.

It was an unfortunate thing to happen. I hope the 14 people who got injured will recovered immediately. This should be a warning for all of us to regularly check our car. Its better to be safe than be sorry. Thanks for sharing this.

It is a good thing that more people were not hurt. I had a friend that drove a semi. He was coming down a mountain and his brakes went out. He was headed for a busy intersection at rush hour. The police were talking to him on the CB. At the last minute, he took it over the side of the Mountain. He told them on the radio, that he might as well die and save lives because he would not be able to live with himself knowing he killed alot of people. The town named the intersection after him. It was sad but very brave.

man thats a real bummer. Glad noone was hurt seriously. We had snow/rain yesterday (WED) and also had a 60 car pile up due to icy road conditions. I don't have a link to the story. But apparently 30 people were injred with a couple seriously. The highway was closed for about 6 hours for salting and the investigation. This happened maybe 10 miles from me. It was around 10 p.m. yet this many cars were involved. It was right near a busy exit though so that may be the reason so many. I guess one after another car hit each other. Thanks for the story.
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~!
