I have a neighbor who I help out with chores and shopping. Today she asked me to help her read her mail. She has chosen to be cremated after death and we discussed what she plans to have done with her ashes. Her husband was cremated and his ashes were spread out on the ocean waves. My neighbor wants her ashes and those of her two little dogs spread on the waves as well so that she can be with her husband. I have spoken to many women who want their ashes placed on top of their late husbands' in the same grave site. This is a nice thought and I understand how they feel. I long ago explained to my daughters that my wish is to be cremated and my ashes spread out on the ocean. I have always been at peace whenever I was near the ocean. The sound of the waves and the smell of the salt air put me in a peaceful frame of mind. If you also wish to be cremated, what do you want done with your ashes?
