I personally think we should read all we can about politics, politicians and their policies .... then make sure that we vote at every election. It is the only way we can hold politicians responsible for their actions .... if they do the wrong thing, then they can be voted out of office. Or if they are re-elected with a reduced number of votes ... then they will have to think that they might not be so lucky the next time around. Not interested in going into politics ... but those of us who live in a democratic society where we do have the right to vote .. should definately exercise that right. There is no point in wanting to live in or have a democracy and then not doing anything at all about putting that right to good use ... for ourselves and our country. Politics is generally nasty in some areas .... not all and in some countries it is much worse than it is in others ... but that is the way of the matter. People can have a say what happens ... by reasonable means of having a voice by voting.

I think we should be involved, so we can hold our elected officials accountable. There is too much apathy, too much complacency, and this allows them to do as they please instead of honoring their oath of office and representing the people properly. Many people are disgusted so they turn away, but it only allows politics to become more corrupt. If lawmakers heard from people more often, they might just think before they act, in my opinion.

I feel the complete opposite and believe that when politians have messed up or we can see what is going on we should make a stand and fight against them. They get away with so much nowadays because people do not fight like they use to. Take the Iraq war. I went on the march in London to show I was against it. However, we represented a tiny % of the population of the UK, the turnout was poor. If the politians had seen everyone stand against them, then they may have taken more notice. The power of the people is very effective when we all stick together. They want our votes and will do anything to get them. When we become complacent, they love it. They bring in new laws all the time, that do away with our freedom, but most people only look at what will affect them and refuse to see the bigger picture. I will always question what a politicain lays before me and I will write to them, protest against their decisions or vote against them. We are the many and they are the few. We could have a big impact if we wanted to, but sadly most do not care and look upon those who do as a bit mad sometimes. Just look back in history, the real heroes are those who have fought against politics and stood by what they believe. I hope this will never change.

All i do each year is vote,we just voted a few months back for senate members and i voted in that.As far as politics, what good does it do to get involved? It has not done any good that i see..This last voting got some democrats into office and they are against this Iraq war,but yet it still goes on,,so i think i will not spend much of my time in politics, except to vote,i always do that.

As of India politics are corrupted by the politicians. This leads to the restrict of growth rate of the country.A huge amount of money is wasted to elect these politicians who never fuffills the promises made by them to the people who vote for them. They are the No: 1 reason for the corruption in the country. Its difficult for a ordinary person with clean habits to survive i politics.Provided one can earn money at the earliest by cheating people..its the business trend of politics nowadays. As a citizen i will vote since i dont want someone to misuse other than that i cannot imagine to involve myself into this corrupted politics.

My view is that we should be far away from politics, only participate in voting, which is must. Otherwise whatever % clean it is, will also turn into BAD. Politics is for the people who are ready to go lower to whatever extent needed.
