I am 34 weeks pregnant. Earlier this my pregnancy class discussed this issue. None of the formula companies know an ideal recipe for baby milk. They have tried to get the closest match to a mother's milk but this is difficult. A mother's milk has antibodies inside so it can help protect the child. It has exactly the right amount of fat to help a baby grow and just enough luquid to make sure a baby is not thirsty. A baby that has had his or her milk for six or more months is smarter than a bottle fed basby due to having had the right recipe from birth. The longer a feeds her baby naturally the smarter her baby will be later in life. I am planning to feed my bay naturally this time around. My son was bottle fed and sadly he got colic from this. I only found out about the importance of Vitamin B12 and Omega when he was 8 years old. I wish I had fed him as nature had intended.
