Younis Khan has officially declined the captaincy of Pakistan, citing continuing mental strain after the traumatic events of recent weeks as the main factor in his decision. Younis has been Pakistan's vice-captain for two years and was widely expected to take over following the resignation of Inzamam-ul-Haq in the wake of Pakistan's first-round ouster at the World Cup . But after a fortnight of speculation in which it emerged that he was reluctant to take over. Whats your thought about this...Will Younis Khan should get the responsibility of this possition. If not who should be????

I think younus is afraid of consequences to be a captain. As according to his statement that when they arrived back home, people has welcome them with bad slogans and their effigies are been burnt. this kind of scenario any one will try to skip from such type of offers, which might cause sch transitions which would be the harmful for them personally. Yunus has a responsibility of a family and if his Family is not saved than what he ca do for the team.

I could say captaining any team is a great honour. If you would have been one among the millions to represent your country then you should be feeling something special..I accept cricketers are also humans but the fact is they should be more tough mentally and they should take the responsibility on demand. Being representing your country is a gift rather than a deprive..I think younis could have escaped from responsibility by retiring as ODI captain as you cant keep two captain in both tests as well as ODIs

Younis Khan is a great all rounder and presently the senior most player in Pakistani cricket team.He should except the responsibility and forget about the past.He should be brave to except the responsibility and set examples for his younger players.

I feel that younis khan turning down captaincy and planning to quit one day international clearly shows that there is something very serious going on in pakistan cricket. That only players knows what it is and why is he declining to be captain and threatening to quit. This needs to be investigated. I feel that pakistan is the most unpredictable team in the world and nobody can take a guess on what they can on their given day. They will be kings one day but the next day they will be pauper.

Anyone would be wary about taking captaincy of the team as it (like India) is under a lot of pressure and the pressure would be more than just cricket. Would he be worried about his life? Will the pressure cause him to underperform and affect his game? Is there lots of politics involved? Who will be the new coach and will they get along well? All these and lot more are the questions that will be running in his mind and the whole teams mind. I respect his decision and feel that he shouldnt be forced.

I think Younis Khan is the best player to have captain after Inzamam Ul-Haq. I think he should not have turned down the captain. I think most probably Yousuf Yohanna will be given captainship after Younis Khan has turned down the captainsy. I think Shaid Afridi can also become captain. I like the way Afridi bats and I think Afridi can become better captain if he is given a chance. The problem with Afridi is that he is not palying test cricket in a consistent basis. I also think Yosuf can also become a good captain.

Well I believe that Younis Khan made the right decision in turning down the captaincy of Pakistan due to his health problems and it is best to pick someone that would be more responsible to the Pakistan captaincy.
