The Lord of the Rings musical opened in Canada last year and is about to London's West End. I have always been a fan, both originally of the books and laterly of the recent films. Given the length of the books and the level of detail that went into the three fils, do you think a musical of the Lord of the Rings is a good idea and will do the books justice? Has anyone seen it in Canada? If so, whats your view? Would you/Will you go and see it?

Unless it's operatic, I really don't know how they can do it justice. THe books and the movies are so epic; larger than life. I can't see how it can be put to stage as a musical or anything else. Of course that doesn't mean that I wouldn't see it if it ever came to the Washington DC area.

Lord Of The Rings a musical? Now that is really stretching the imagination. No, I won't go to see it. I loved the book and I loved the movies. I just don't see how they can make it all happen in a musical. It would take away too much from the story and the visuals. I'll have to give that one a miss.
