When people are talking during a show, do you ask them to be quiet?

I always chicken out when it comes to asking people to stop talking during a show. What I do to avoid being put in such a position is go to the matinee, when it's just me and a bunch of older folks. Saturday nights, the best time to go the cinema, as far as I'm concerned, seems to be when all the weirdos come out of the woodwork. LoL!

I am the kind of person to say something... immediately. I wouldn't say I'm confrontational, necessarily, but I will throw myself into a situation like that where others aren't too eager to say something. I always have this feeling that I need to say something, to protect the "investment" i made on this movie. If someone is whispering and they aren't to audible it doesn't bother me. It's the jerks who talk so loud that they interrupt anything happening during the movie... I will stand up, say something, yell if I have to, and get management involved, cause I paid $10 dollars for this ticket and I am going to enjoy my movie. The other thing I hate... is when people kick my chair. But that's a different discussion for a different time. :-D

Thanks for the reply! :) Oh, I know what you mean about the whole chair-kicking thing. In the theatre that I go to, when someone sits down in front of me the SLAM down into the chair, which reclines a bit, and usually SMASHES into my knees. Some people have zero consideration for others.

Actually I find the senior citizens to be the rudest of all. I'm not sure why but they talk so loud before and during a movie. I usually will turn around and shush them and they are so taken aback that I don't hear a peep out of them afterwards.

One of my pet peeves is when someone screams to his buddy in the middle of a show, "DID YOU SEE THAT?" I turn to them and say, "No, you idiot, I paid six bucks to come to the theater to stare at the floor!" Acting like nobody else is there is just stupid, and I will yell at someone to shut their yammering skull cave if they're gossiping during a show.
