You know, when you ask someone a question, and it's a straightforward question, and they don't answer but ask you a question instead, and that question has nothing to do with what you asked. Does that annoy you? Or when you ask a general opinion and someone just changes the subject, and doesn't give you a straight answer. Or this one is the worst. If you ask someone a question, whose answer can be only "yes" or "no", and the person replies sarcastically or says something like "what do YOU think?", I mean, if I knew, I wouldn't ask, right? So tell me, is this something that annoys you?

Yes, it is really annoying when people cannot answer a strightforward question...I mean, is it really that complex to do so? And the "what do you think" thing bugs me too. It's the same as people who make stupid comments or ask really stupid comments, it really angers me so so much, but I have found that I can stop people asking me stupid questions quite easily with some of the answers I give in return. Here are some examples of what I mean, and believe it or not they have happened, and they are my responces too. An example of a stupid comment...I was looking for my housekeys (I have a bit of a memory problem and forget where I leave things!) and my fiancee (at the time) said "they will be the last place you look for them"! Really? I looked back at her and said "well, that is logic, I'm not exactly going to find them and keep looking now am I?" Shortly after that we broke up. An example of a stupid question...I used to be a canine handler for several security companies and I had a lovely German Shepard called Preston who I totally adored and was one of the best dogs I have ever known (he saved my life once too). I had Preston tied to a post in my garden one day and I had him all soaped up as I was washing him when a neighbour popped his head over the fence and said "Are you washing your dog?" IT WAS BLATANTLY OBVIOUS I WAS CLEANIGN MY DOG! I got really angry, but decided I would have some fun and replied "No, I'm not cleaning my dog, and you could well be my hero...you see, I have locked myself out and I thought my only way of getting in was soaping up my ever faithful Preston and pushing him through the letterbox so he could open the door and let me in, but now you are here, have you got a spare coat hanger I could borrow?" For some reason the neighbour went off in a foul mood and never spoke to me again...

I seem to be a magnet for people who ask stupid questions, or come out with stupid comments, it drives me mad, but I get my own back with the responces I give. another one for me was having my luggage and walking through an airport when I bumped into a friend. I had my airline tickets in hand and he says "you off on a plane then?" which I replied "Nah, just waving some old clothes off that I'm sending off for charity, and don't tell anyone but I have hidden my little sister in one so she gets reduced price fair."....never spoken to that guy since either...can't think why!

ha ha hmm... I can't think why you haven't heard from him either. You know what, you remind of Chandler from 'friends'.

yes all what you described above is really annoying, what I would like to also add is when you ask a direct and simple question and the person starts a long story and talks about remotely related things and keep saying he will get to your question at the end! or if they just keep rambling without actually saying anything and just keep 'explaining' forever..

yes this really annoys me especially when they change the subject. it happens to me with a few friends and also family. aahhh it makes me wanna go mad but then i ignore them for a while and then start to be sarcastic with them and in the end they give up ignoring me and changing the subject and finally answer my question

yeah, that annoys me to hell, why do people avoid answering questions, and they think that they can just change the subject and that would be enough, what are they thinking?

I know what you mean. I hate it when people reply my question with a question. But I know that's retribution because I do that myself sometimes too. :P

I only hate that when people are trying to act all sarcastic, and it would take them like one second to say 'yes' or 'no' but they will say a lot of other bunch of stuff and still won't answer your question, that is so annoying.

you want to know what gets to me? What really gets to me? So the other day I went to the movies with my partner. And all over the theater I kept seeing people opening up their cell phones, and text messenging people. I mean, this is distracting! I understand that they are not speaking on the phone but this is horrible. Every few seconds someone was in their phone pulling peoples attention away from the movie. Am I the only one who turns their phone off?

well, ahem..... I really don't know what to say *looks around randomly and awkwardly* I am one of those people, I don't turn my phone off, just keep it on silent but on vibration, but I don't actually keep looking at it. Only if it vibrates and I have a message or something, and I don't like not answering someone's call, you never know when a person might need something important, so I just answer and whisper to them that I'm in a movie, and can't talk unless it's something really important. But in my defense, I do try to be really discreet about it, as in, I keep my phone really down, so that I won't disturb anyone. I hope you remember that, if at any time, I happen to be annoying you at the movies.
