Hi guys. The fun has arrivvvvveeed!!! Ok I didn’t have of dinner today as I lunched late at about 4pm as I was packed in a meeting trying to note few points. Anyhow I am bit hungry and few minutes back i was in the kitchen thinking what i could have to eat . I could make a simple sandwich with butter or my favorite pineapple jam but i thought of trying something i haven't had in years .... a banana sandwich!! I can't see what’s wrong with the choice of this filling, but when i tell my people they think i am nuts!! LOL I am not pregnant now, so its not some weird craving but just weird :)) My chat friends also had some very strange fillings between their slices of bread. They included the beetroot, just salt/pepper, coleslaw-all made by them. One of them even put some pickle in between as well. We always could not see what was wrong with our own fillings, but sometimes found fault with each others. Hehe thats mad! I am off to make another sandwich now. What do I add now in between the slices- strawberry jam on th bananas? OK let me know if you tried some weird fillings. Share your wonderful memories and tastes.

Hi, when I was a kiddie I used to love banana sandwiches, although I haven't had one for many years (maybe a suggestion for tomorrows lunch hehe) It does remind me of something awful I used to put in sandwiches and that was tomato ketchup. Yes just tomato ketchup or red sauce whatever you call it. I wouldnt have the stomach for it now, but yes thats the most weirdest filling i've ever had.

yumm tomato ketchup/sauce between slices thats cool. i see many kids doing that here. they spread the sauce all over the slice and lick up their fingers before they eat the sandwich. :)

I'm sorry-- but everything you listed as sandwich toppings sounded very odd to me.. What is beetroot?? Never heard of it- I'm pretty plain jane-- I eat lunch meat, tunafish, eggs, pb & j- that sort of thing in sandwiches. I am a super picky person and don't eat alot of weird food- I do love pickles-- just not between bread! I like pickles with ham and bread though!

I like peanut butter and banana sandwiches ,i love those..I don't see anything weird about butter and jelly or peanut butter, jelly and banana;s....But i had a friend once and you will never believe what they liked between their sandwich..It was mayonaise and jelly sandwich, yuk YUK, but they liked it so i suppose its ok....As a child I would eat plain mayonaise sandwiches, and they were pretty good as i remember...I do not eat mayo anymore because its all fat and egg whites, but i do eat sandwiches and now i use mustard...

You're definitely not pregnant, totalearnings, LOL. So far, my sandwhich fillings are pretty much within the "not weird" one. Peanut butter, strawberry jam, liver spread and my all time favorite, 50% less fat and salt butter. I'm certainly not pregnant too. :)

I love banana sandwiches, when I was first pregnant I used to fancy bacon and banana sandwiches, lovely. Also I am glad I'm not alone in loving peanut butter and banana sandwiches. Where I am from people eat sugar butties - sugar sandwiches. Also men used to take to work cheese and jam sandwiches, I think it is what you would call jelly. So strawberry jam and cheese. I always love tomatoe and salad cream and also just salad cream on sandwiches. But you can't beat chip buttties (french fries).

First, the 2 slices of bread will first be spread with peanut butter and margarine. I have tried ice-cream, bananas, papayas, tomatoes and even water melons. I too mixed mashed hardboiled egg with peanut butter and margarine. Mashed potatoes too. They make great healthy sandwiches. As I am chinese, we do have a type of sweet sticky cake, which is eaten only during Chinese New Year. My mother used to cut them into slices and pan-fried them coated with egg and floor. At times, there will be 2 slices of sweet potatoes "grabbing" one piece of the sweet cake. I will just put a piece of it in between the 2 slices of bread. Yummy!
