Don't Forget to Rate Your Responses!!

This is something I've been trying to do a lot of lately. I've heard some say that they get annoyed when posters don't comment on responses...well, come on now, who has that kind of time? Especially when you realize that half of your comments will be duplicates! So here's what I do: I read through my responses...I rate ALL of the decent responses positively. I will rate negative it's a one liner or a response having NOTHING to do with the topic. Then when I come across a response that makes me want to comment, i comment. Then after about a week or 2 depending on how the "hot" the discussion is, I'll assign a best response based on the detail and information in the response. But I think rating is something we all could do as an alternative to commenting...and it just takes one click. XOXO

I am so glad the I read this discussion. I had no idea what everyone was saying about rating posts. Now I have read this and just for the first time figured out where to rate them. thanks for bringing this to my attention. I have been spending my time trying to reply to those who relpy to my discussions started and always try to pick the best response. From now on I will rate also.

I guess i should have added that by Rating, it doesn't help you, it helps the responder. Kinda of a scratch my back, I'll scratch yours. You responded to my post...so I'll rate you! lol

Ok, in the guidelines it says to not comment on everyone that responds to your discussions. Rating is another deal. I don't minus someone unless it is really bad. No need to be negative really. I also rate my responders hoping they are rating my discussion positively since they are responding. I also pick a best response when I discussion has not had a response for a few weeks. I tend to get responses over time. Good luck with your discussions coming and going.

I agree with you and I know that it becomes difficult to comment on every response. But I still believe, tht if I have time I would like to comment the replies posted to my discussions, besides rating them. I feel that my friends who have spent their invaluable time must know that I have read their replies and those replies must be acknowledged. I believe in discussing the matter further and in the process if I am able to develop better relationship with my frineds that feels good to me. For me, earning money is secondary.
