£7 flight from U.K to U.S.A to be launched in 4 years????

OK announced today in England flights to be launched to usa for £7, isnt this going to create a much bigger carbon footprint?

I know it sounds bad and it is for the environment. But, that means that I would be able to go home for the first time since I got here. By that time, I will have been gone from Alaska for 10 years! On the one hand it is bad because of the carbon footprint. On the other hand I can't help but to be happy to visit home.
