I was just wondering if anyone actually knows what every key on their keyboard actually does and if they use them. I find out different things with mine all the time but still dont know what half of them do.

I know what most of the keys on my keyboard do, Some keys have multiple functions depending on the application your using. I never use the 'Insert' Key and don't even have a Numlock or ScrollLock keys. My keyboard has media buttons (play/pause/forward etc) which I use all the time to control Winamp. My Keyboard is a US keyboard so it does not have the pound symbol which is quite annoying as the pound is my native currency.

There are a great many keys on my keyboard that I have virtually no use for, and a few that I use on rare occassions only. I never use the Home, End or Insert keys, although I would probably find them useful if I ever started to write a long thesis or manuscript. The same goes for the Print Screen and Scroll Lock, which I consider to be superfluous for myself, or the Sleep, Wake Up and Power keys that will still be unused when I replace the keyboard. The number pad to the right is only used if I enter ASCII code for an unusual character, otherwise I stick to the numbers across the top. I do use quite a few Function keys, but mainly if I network to my works system where they are of greater value. I have never bothered with the specialised keyboards for Internet etcetera because the standard keyboard has more functions than I actually need.

I use the Linux operating system, and can just configure them to whatever task I want. I do not really use anything beyond the main "non-special" keys, though.
