Are talent shows' final results really fair and justified ??

These days, a pool of talent shows has submerged our television. There is no dearth of them and everyday a new one pops up. I have nothing against them. In fact i think it's a great way to encourage talent among youth. What concerns me, is the result of these talent shows. Most of the shows i have seen, the winner never found much support from the judges and on most occasions the truly deserving had to take a back seat. These is because of the prejudices ppl exhibit while voting. But is it the right thing to do ??
