I was just sitting here with my little furbaby, Blackroot. She is sleeping next to me on the couch. Sprawled out and completely relaxed and comfortable. My other furbaby Madmartigan is napping in our bedroom under our bed. I was thinking about how much I love these two and how I would be lost without them. Which is what lead me to this question...where did you get your furbabies from? Madmartigan came from the SPCA and was a gorgeous little boy that we could not resist. He was found abandoned outside somewhere with his siblings. We got him when he was 10 weeks old. He turned a year old last weekend. Blackroot came from one of my mom's friends. Her cats are always having kittens and they are the most laid back and affectionate cats! So when she has a black, female with extra toes we knew we had to have her. She is 7 months old. So go ahead and tell me about your kitties!

i also do love and adore my 2 cats, Kitty and Mimi... my ex-bf was at our home and found Kitty across the street, hungry and fed her, then after that she followed him to our home... we adopted her then the next day, i woke up and see another cat with similar feature like her, the color of the coat(orange and white), the tail cut short and the size, so we assumed they are sisters that's why i named them after the famous San-Rio sisters Hello Kitty and Hello Mimi... i adopted her too and raised them... Kitty is pregnant now...

That's a very sweet story! Thanks for sharing. It's nice that you adopted them both and are able to give them a good life. =) I also like the name choices. So cute. Awww well, good luck to kitty.

Very cool. It's nice to see the number of people who adopt from rescue shelters. That makes me happy to know that people care enough to save an animal. =)

Denny & Rascal - Rascal when he was just a puppy with my nephew Denny, who he lived with for a few short weeks when he was a baby.
Well Rascal isn't a kitty, but I know you said furbabies first. hehe I got Rascal from my sister when I was ten years old. She had gotten him for free in front of the IGA in her town, she just couldn't pass up his cuteness. But shortly after they had to move and the place that they were moving to didn't want pets. So sadly they were going to have to find a new place for him. My Mom and I saw him and fell in love with him. So we begged and begged Dad to let us keep him and ended up winning him. lol Dad fell in love with him too and loved him to pieces though he wouldn't at first admit that.

My Furbaby Tara - This photo was taken at the Easter Weekend when we attempted to finish off a roll of film in the camera so we could get the pictures developed. It was wonderful how she sat and posed for us lol.
My furbaby Tara came from the SARA Society. I was looking at cats at the SPCA till I learned that they're not a true no kill shelter. Tara was 7 months old when we first met her. I went into the Shelter to look at a different cat that caught my eye, but as I walked in, Tara was the first cat up to the front of her cage, tail held high, and meowed at me. I was lost from that point on lol. Where we lived, we couldn't have cats. Our landlord wouldn't allow it. We went ahead and adopted Tara anyway, and had her kept at the shelter whilst we scrambled madly to find a pet friendly place to live. It took us 2 months. It was a stressful time between viewing new apartments, figuring out what we could afford and visiting Tara at th shelter every day. Our little furbaby came home on the 1st of December. She hid from us for the first day, and then started poking her nose out and about. The kids took great delight in whispering "Mommy, I can see the cat!" LOL. Now, she's settled right in and is a neurotic member of the family LOL.

That's an awesome story about Tara. I cannot imagine how hard it was to be looking for a new place while your newly adopted one was still at the shelter. I'm glad she adjusted and became an active part of your family!!
