Guilty of pampering yourself?

Do you ever feel guilty when you buy something for yourself and not buy anything for your child or spouse/partner? Is it a selfish act?

I think that having children slowed me down alittle. Before I had children I could spend half the day in a hair salon, nail salon, and spa. Now I am more busy. The children require a lot of attention. Now sometimes I feel guilty when I do it but I do it anyway. It's important for me to continue to pamper myself. I believe that it's important to keep yourself up.

I rarely buy for myself and am constantly buying for my daughter and hubby. There are times when I buy for myself cause I love it so much and think I could have spent that money on something else. Indulging once in a while for me is ok. I think I would feel guilty if I bought for myself all the time.

i don't feel guilty if it is meant to be. there are times that i always think of husband and his needs that i tend to forget things for me. so i think it is just right to pamper yourself from time to time. you should also please yourself by buying something you really like. it is like your battery that will keep you going in your daily routine. but if you tend to pamper yourself everyday, that would be a different story. i think whatever is too much is also bad.

This is a great Topic, I find that I'm always feeling guilty to buy myself something! I think Since I had my first daughter 10 years ago I have maybe bought 2 new packages of underwear a few bra's and of course hair cuts, I always go into the store seeing clothes (I need the most) and wind up turning my head just because I know my money can be used on them. I am a mom to 7 Little ones and expecting and I am hoping that as they get older I would be able to treat myself a little more than I am right now =)

I hardly ever buy anything for myself and when I do I feel like I should have used that money to get my daughter something. I know this is silly because she has everything in the world she could ever want or need. I mean just this week it was my birthday and my fiance took me shopping so I could pick some clothes out for myself. I found myself wanting to go look at clothes for my daughter. But I don't think it's a selfish act to pamper yourself every now or go buy a new outfit. I think as long as you're not making you family go broke because of it and it's not all the time why not. We all deserve to be pampered and buy something new every now and then. We just have to keep reminding ourselves of that. Good topic!

Yes I do feel guilty. But I know that I deserve it and I shouldn't. But I do. I think it is because I buy for them all the time.

I don't think it is a selfish act, unless you do it all the time! I very rarely buy myself anything, but I am more than happy to get things for my kids and hubby. I like getting them things =) But if I see something I want I usually never buy it for myself. I would just rather get something for someone else.
